16.9.18

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. Geoff had been going along well but last weekend he started with a sore throat and a high temp and felt quite unwell.

The hospital advised to ring an ambulance and they took him to Nowra Hospital who inturn called the Lifehouse and where given instruction to give him a CT scan, antibiotics and send him by ambulance to the Lifehouse.

The main concerns were aspirated pneumonia and an infection in his throat that would jeopardise the surgery.

He arrived at the Lifehouse at 4am and the wonderful staff there went into action.

He came home on Wednesday with more medication and progressively got better each day.

We are heading back to Sydney today where he will do another swallow test to see if he can swallowing some sort of food – its a biggy because I know how devastated he will be if he can’t.
He has an appointment with the heart doctor as he is also having a few issues with low blood pressure which has stopped him from doing any exercise.

I will post again once we have some more answers over the next couple of days.
